IACTA ALEA ESTO

The last several weeks have been a whirlwind – hellos, goodbyes, road trips, lots of food, too much wine, some cold night snuggling, and tons of reflection on the previous year.

2024 was a capstone ending a cycle of uncertainty that had hovered like an angry cloud since early 2021. Family dynamics, world events, economic and health issues had been in constant flux – some things were good, some not-so-good. Now, sitting at the kitchen table, I’m watching my son running around with my cell phone, singing along to whatever he’s watching on YouTube Kids. My wife is taking a well-earned nap on the couch. The young dog is snoring by the fire while the old dog is snoring away in his bed. Everything is as it should be.

I don’t know what to expect out of 2025, but I do know that the gameboard is set.
