The Diaper Hack

This is an easy-to-prepare, must-have item for every SAHD’s gear bag. I put 10-20 kits together at a time and keep them in a crate by the front door as a reminder not to leave the house unprepared.

The Diaper Hack

This hack is a must-have whenever you leave the house item. No matter where you are, restaurant, museum, flight, or sports event, your “little” will need a change or have an accident. It’s unavoidable. Digging through diaper bags or under strollers can be a time-consuming pain in the ass (no pun intended).

Items Needed:

  • Two diapers (not pullups)
  • 6-10 Wipes
  • One gallon-sized storage Ziploc bag
  • One Sandwich sized Ziploc bag

Instructions:

  1. Fold wipes into squares and place 6-10 in a sandwich bag.
  2. Insert 2 diapers into a large Ziploc bag.
  3. Insert a sandwich bag into the large Ziploc bag.
  4. Fold, squeeze out air, and seal.
  5. Repeat until you have enough to cover your week’s activities.

This is an all-in-one save-the-day hack. Each kit can safely cover two regular changes or a major incident. The large bag can be used to store a soiled diaper or soiled clothing after cleanup.

(Disclaimer: I don’t claim credit for this hack. Pampers sells similar kits. I discovered them at an airport during an “emergency” event (we forgot to pack diapers). They were expensive (really expensive). The version above isn’t.)

I hope this proves useful to you!
